Cassie has addressed Diddy‘s recent troubles with the law in a new statement released shortly after federal agents raided his homes in Miami and Los Angeles.
In a statement issued by her attorney to Good Morning America on Monday (March 26), the “Me & U” (real name Casandra Ventura) singer said that she is hopeful that her former partner will be brought to justice.
“We will always support law enforcement when it seeks to prosecute those that have violated the law,” it read. “Hopefully, this is the beginning of a process that will hold Mr. Combs responsible for his depraved conduct.”
Back in November, she filed a civil lawsuit for millions of dollars claiming that the Bad Boy mogul subjected her to years of abuse.
Per documents obtained by HipHopDX, the 37-year-old accused Diddy of sundry crimes, including rape, sex trafficking and physical abuse. The filing also states that he “forced Ms. Ventura to engage in sex acts with male sex workers while masturbating and filming the encounters.” She also alleged that he forced her to carry a handgun even though she felt uncomfortable doing so. Finally, she claimed that he plied her with drugs and alcohol, triggering a substance abuse problem.
Just one day later, however, the pair settled their lawsuit “amicably” for an undisclosed sum.
“I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control,” Cassie shared with the public at the time. “I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support.”
Diddy shared his own statement that read: “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best.”
In a statement to HipHopDX, the businessman’s attorney addressed the settlement and wrote: “Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing….
