Sources at billionaire John Paulson’s recent fundraiser for Donald Trump say that former first lady Melania played a pivotal role.
“Melania Trump emerged as the main star at the Republican fund-raiser at John Paulson’s $100 million house in Palm Beach,” a source told of the hedge funder’s event for the former president that raised over $50 million.
Said our GOP insider, “The former first lady, who usually appears quite serious in photographs, seemed to never stop smiling Saturday night and was charming and talkative to all the guests . . . She’s ready to be first lady again and clearly enjoyed the evening.”
The insider added: “Melania enjoys being a hostess . . . She’s very supportive of her husband’s campaign and as we get closer to the final months, you can expect to see her more at key events,” including the convention.
Trump’s haul more than doubled the record $25 million raised at President Biden’s event at Radio City Music Hall last month.
“Tonight, we raised an historic $50.5 million for the re-election of President Trump,” Paulson told The Post in a statement.
Attendees forked over between $250,000 and $814,600 per person for the reception and dinner at Paulson’s $110 million oceanfront home.
Guests included WWE co-founder Linda McMahon, Vegas whiz Steve Wynn, ex-Georgia Sen. Kelly Loeffler and former rival Vivek Ramaswamy.
also reported that billionaire Paulson, 68, is engaged to his girlfriend, Alina de Almeida, 35, who was also listed as a host of the event.
Usually private Melania also appeared publicly with Trump, 77, in Palm Beach for the Florida primary last month.
