The Buncombe County Health and Human Services Board (BCHHS) is seeking community members with lived experience with BCHHS to serve on the BCHHS Board as a volunteer public/consumer advocate.
BCHHS Board members are a critical part of our mission to strengthen our communities by advancing health, safety, and opportunity as they to help shape and advocate for critical services and policies that impact people at every age and phase in Buncombe County.
Buncombe County Health and Human Services is composed of Public Health, Social Work, Economic Services, and Veterans Services. These programs operate within a framework of Federal, State and local laws and funding sources that provide core, mandated services to our community- and we need your insight to build inclusive and thoughtful policies and practices that help us better serve our community.
The term appointment is four years long and members can serve up to two terms. Meetings are virtual (until further notice) and are usually held once a month on the 4th Friday of every month.
Those interested in serving should apply online by visiting www.buncombecounty.org, or contact Stacey Woody at (828) 250-4108.
