You can add Billie Eilish to the ever-growing list of names that have in some way contributed to the upcoming Barbie extravaganza, that’s after the singer announced that she’ll be releasing a song for the Greta Gerwig movie that’s landing in theatres globally on July 21.
Speaking at the Barbie world premiere on July 10, Eilish revealed that her new song What Was I Made For? will be available to stream from July 13 (7PM PT), a release that sees her join names like Dua Lipa, Lizzo, Ice Spice, and Nicki Minaj on an already stacked soundtrack.
Still, if the fact Eilish’s music was entering a Barbie era wasn’t enough for one night, it also appears that her style has been injected with a big fat dose of Barbi-fication.
The 21-year-old arrived on the red carpet, alongside brother Finneas O’Connell, sporting an extremely alternative Barbie look, so alt Eilish described it as “more of a Ken thing.”
The once Highsnobiety cover star wore black high-water slacks, a pink pinstripe shirt, and a matching pink tie, with a pair of the hella chunky ERL sneakers on foot. It was a far cry from anything we’ve seen from the rest of the Barbie cast thus far, but, then again, what did we expect?
Ever since becoming a household name back in 2016 at the age of 15, Eilish has gained recognition for her distinctive fashion sense, one often characterized by non-traditional, loose-fitting ‘fits, sneakers, large jackets, and tracksuits.
