Throngs of stunning models, fashion insiders, and stylish industry folks descended on the Meatpacking District in New York City last week for the launch of Lucas Ossendrijver’s Fall 2023 Theory Project collection.
Why the hype, you ask? You see, it’s no ordinary collection. The NYC-based brand unveiled its Fall 2023 installation of Theory Project by Lucas Ossendrijver—a special capsule that pushes the boundaries of Theory’s design codes into uncharted territory—and rightly celebrated with a soirée at its chic Gansevoort Street store.
Hosted in collaboration with Highsnobiety, the party brought together some of fashion’s most influential creators to revel in the ingenuity of Ossendrijver’s second capsule, connecting new and old faces along the way. With luscious libations provided by The Botanist and sultry sounds from Chris King and boyyyish, it set the stage for an unforgettable fall evening.
Informed by his Dutch upbringing and deep appreciation of architecture, Ossendrijver infuses innovative construction techniques into this season’s collection for a fluid take on workwear essentials. “The collection offers a lot of possibilities for customers—it’s not one singular silhouette but different propositions to mix and match,” he tells Highsnobiety. “I feel especially proud of the quality of the fabrics and manufacturing. It’s always exciting to see an idea come to life and to see it being worn by customers, that’s the biggest compliment you can get as a designer.”
So it’s no wonder Ossendrijver was the man of the hour, with numerous guests posing for photos and rocking pieces from the collection in a show of force.
Among the handsome crowd were a few stars of the Fall ‘23 campaign, including models Rae Sada and Idriys Ali-Chow. A trailblazing talent in fashion and music, Sada came correct wearing the Recycled Poly Reversible Bomber, one of our favorite styles from the capsule if we’re being real.
