Lynette “Diamond” Hardaway, a staunch supporter of former President Donald Trump, died on January 9 at her home, at the age of 51.
The Diamond and Silk sisters, whose real names are Lynnette Hardaway and Rochelle Richardson, gained notoriety for their YouTube commentaries and as being vocal supporters of Donald Trump in 2016. Trump embraced the duo, who were longtime Democrats but switched parties to support Trump’s presidential campaign. When Trump was elected as president, he invited the duo to his 2017 inauguration and later to meet with him at the White House.
The Diamond and Silk notoriety in the MAGA world eventually led to contributing roles for the pair at Fox News, though the network cut ties with them in 2020 after they began peddling conspiracies on-air about Covid-19.
Some social media users are pushing the theory that Hardaway died from Covid and have suggested it would be ironic for an anti-vaxxer or Covid denier to have died from the disease. Pastor and activist Bishop Talbert Swan tweeted: “Lynette Hardaway, a.k.a. ‘Diamond’ from the MAGA Trump-supporting duo Diamond and Silk, died from contracting what she called ‘a hoax’ better known as Covid-19.”
While the cause of death has not yet been officially confirmed, last year, Hardaway dismissed the idea that she was in a hospital with Covid.
The duo then landed their own show, Diamond and Silk: Crystal Clear, on the conservative network Newsmax. As of January 2023, Diamond and Silk are reported to have a net worth of $3 million.
