Community Engagement Markets

Note: Grove Street Community Center will be closed for up to four weeks for HVAC system replacement. APR staff will provide round-trip shuttle transportation for Senior Congregate Dining from Grove Street to Stephens-Lee each Monday-Friday from 11:30 a.m to 12:45 p.m. Visit ashevillenc.gov for updates on the Grove Street Community Center.

Special Events

Winter Day Trip: Dobra Tea – Thursday, January 11 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Enjoy a flavorful outing at Dobra Tea for a delightful tea experience. Transportation is Free. Ages 18+. Please register at www.avlREC.com. Free. Harvest House, 205 Kenilworth Road.

MLK Day of Service – Monday, January 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join us for a day of service for MLK Day! Partner with Riverlink, Hood Huggers, the Burton Street Community Association, and more to help beautify the Burton Street community. Free. Burton Street Community Center, 134 Burton Street.

Winter Day Trip: Lunch and Escape Room – Thursday, January 25 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. We will eat lunch at the Asheville Mall food court and make our way over to Fox N Otter for a one hour escape room experience. Transportation is free. Participants are responsible for their meal and the $29 escape room fee. Ages 18+. Register at www.avlREC.com. Harvest House, 205 Kenilworth Road.

Family Trivia Night – Saturday, January 27 from 5-6:30 p.m. The whole family is invited to an evening of trivia with questions that span the ages. Prizes will be awarded and refreshments will be served. Registration is required; go to www.avlREC.com or call 828-254-1942. Free. Burton Street Community Center, 134 Burton Street.
