]]>LaVar Ball, father of basketball stars Lonzo, LiAngelo, and LaMelo Ball recently had his right foot amputated.
According to TMZ Sports, the first to report the news, Ball underwent the amputation due to a serious medical issue. The outlet has learned he’s in “good spirits” following the procedure. There are no other details about his injury or what led to it at this time.
LaVar, a former college football player, made a name for himself and his family in the mid to late 2010s for making grandiose claims and boasts about his sons’ basketball abilities.
Before he stepped back from the spotlight in recent years, he would regularly make headlines for being a very dedicated stage father in the high school and college basketball world.
He was seen as both intriguing and problematic at times for his tactics of encouraging and supporting his children and suggesting that the world believe in them as well. Sometimes a parent just knows.
LaVar’s three sons have all since found success either in the NBA or the music industry. LaMelo is a point guard for the NBA’s Charlotte Hornets and Lonzo is a point guard for the Chicago Bulls. Meanwhile, after graduating undrafted in 2018 and bouncing around a bit from a Hornets affiliate team to others, LiAngelo, also an aspiring rapper, signed with Def Jams Records this year.

For spring 2025, A.P.C. and Brain Dead are back together and better than ever, at least as far as denim is concerned.
The disparity between the two companies’ many team-ups is palpable.
Nowadays, having long since mastered collaborations, A.P.C. chefs up very proper partnerships with Katie Holmes, former fashion editor Anastasia Barbieri, and Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop while Brain Dead does the most with, well, basically everyone (adidas! Clarks! Oakley! Dickies! Magic: The Gathering!).
Not that there isn’t a little back and forth, a little give and take. For instance, the first round of A.P.C.’s Interaction series of collabs went to Kid Cudi. The third? Brain Dead, their first of several.
A.P.C. and Brain Dead are united by a shared sense of open-mindedness. Their respective founders, Jean Touitou and Kyle Ng, are perpetually curious close friends. They love stuff! Except Brain Dead has a bit of a youthful edge on its nearly 40-year-old partner. Not that Touitou minds.
“I’m jealous of the Brain Dead brand because they do exactly what they want,” Touitou tells Highsnobiety. “They do what I would’ve done if I was 30 years old now.”

There’s nothing quite like a relaxed, long run with a good playlist. But shorter, high-intensity sprints can really work up a sweat. Which one is better for you?
Running longer and running faster both have benefits, and the best running style for you will depend on your experience, preferences, and goals. We spoke to sports medicine doctors about how each running style affects the body, the benefits and downsides, and how to decide whether running longer or faster is right for you.
“The running longer, or traditional method, is about slogging through miles at a slower pace,” Dr. Todd McGrath, a sports medicine physician at the Hospital for Special Surgery, tells TODAY.com.
Running for a longer distance or time has a number of benefits.
Endurance refers to your body’s ability to maintain physical activity over a period of time. “The best way to build endurance is to create a situation that needs endurance, which is longer distance and longer time,” Dr. John Vasudevan, associate professor of physical medicine and rehabilitation at Penn Medicine, tells TODAY.com.
There are two types of endurance. Cardiovascular, or aerobic, endurance is how well your heart and lungs work to supply the body with oxygen, per the Cleveland Clinic. Muscular endurance is how long your muscles can repeatedly contract against resistance.
“Running on the easier, longer side really builds the strength of your heart and (increases) the capacity of your lungs to get that engine working well,” says Vasudevan. “You also develop more muscular endurance by running longer and slower,” says McGrath.
Recovery between workouts is crucial. Allowing your body to rest can help the muscles repair themselves and grow, the experts note.

“He’s such an important and integral part of my family,” the actress said about her “Office” co-star while accepting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Tuesday.
“Sometimes I forget that the reason that I know him is because we worked together professionally.”
Kaling, 45, quipped, “I’m as starstruck by him now at age 29 as I was when I first met [him] — at 24.”
The “Mindy Project” star and Novak met in 2004 on “The Office” set when they were around 24 years old, and have maintained an amicable relationship despite dating on and off from 2004 to 2007.
Novak, 45, also spoke at the “Mindy Project” star’s induction ceremony and honored her for “being a brilliant and wildly successful showrunner,” as well as “an incredible mother of three, a deep and caring daughter and friend and mentor to so many.”
“You’d be on the walk of talent if they had one,” he added. “You’d be on the walk of friendship. You’d be on the walk of compassionate parenthood.”
The actor continued, “But let’s face it, all of these would be terrible field trips, so here you are instead, very deservedly, a person who means so much to so many on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
Novak jokingly reassured the audience that Kaling was also “very superficial” in her “spare time.”
Kaling is the proud mother of her daughters Katherine Swati, 7, and Anne, 1, and son Spencer Avu, 4.

]]>Ask someone what makes a good workout, and they’ll probably say it needs to be quick and it needs to be convenient. (They might also say it needs to be painless but you can’t keep everyone happy.)
As a seven-time Mr Olympia champion-turned-purveyor of daily fitness tips and inspiration, Arnold Schwarzenegger knows this only too well, which is why this week he shared a short, convenient complex workout via his Pump Club newsletter.
Complexes involve performing several exercises back-to-back in one continuous sequence, much like a circuit workout. The difference between the two is that a complex uses one piece of equipment, like a pair of dumbbells or a kettlebell, they’re a handy option when the gym gets busy or if your home workout kit is limited. They build muscle, burn fat and provide a side helping of cardiovascular gains too.
I enjoyed the last Arnold Schwarzenegger dumbbell workout I tried, so I started my Monday with this Schwarzenegger-endorsed complex and it didn’t disappoint, but it’s also a lot more beginner-friendly than you might imagine. To help make it even more accessible, I’ve added regressions for each exercise below if you need to dial down the intensity as fatigue sets in.
Ready to give it a try? All you need is a timer and pair of dumbbells.
This workout involves five dumbbell exercises, alternating between a lower-body and upper-body movement. Perform five reps of each exercise, resting as little as possible between each, to complete one round. Set the weights down and rest for 1-2 minutes, then repeat.
For beginners, Schwarzenegger’s team recommends setting a timer for 10 minutes. People with more training experience can increase that to 20 or 30 minutes as appropriate. Make a note of how many rounds and reps you complete in your chosen time period and try to beat it next time.

During a sit-down with the Broken Record podcast with co-host Justin Richmond, the entertainer revealed that he talked to The Notorious B.I.G. and Prince before their untimely deaths, with his run-in with Biggie being the first time he and the Brooklyn rapper crossed paths, and it was on the night he died of gunshot wounds after a drive-by shooting in L.A.
“I don’t even want to say this out loud ’cause it’s like a terrible jinx. I met Biggie four hours before he got killed, and I talked to Prince eight hours before he died,” he said, before revealing the Minnesota icon had a business idea for him and Jay-Z.
“I talked to Prince and he was pitching, saying that me, him and Jay-Z should start an entertainment company and he said he had talked to Jay and he wanted to do it,” Smith shared. “And we talked that night, and in the morning, he was gone. I don’t know what that says about me. I’m like, ‘Oh, no. Don’t call me, don’t call me.’”
He then added, “The Biggie one made me cry, ’cause it was like stupid and it was like just centered on hip-hop — for rapping,” Smith said of the reason Big was killed. “That one hurt me. It scared me too.”
Another random fact he shared was that Too $hort‘s favorite DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince song was “You Saw My Blinker.” “When we went to Oakland and Too $hort was like, ‘That’s the one, you’ll never make nothin’ better than that,’” Smith said while mimicking the Bay Area legend’s accent.

“Their announcement was well coordinated and struck the right tone… they both have made their kids a priority,” the insider added.
The source also directed us to the stars’ social media accounts, pointing out that Cohen recently liked an interview his ex shared, “as the most recent sign of support for her.”
The exes took their cordial social media demeanor even further when he subsequently commented on a Valentine’s Day photo she posted in a sexy pink dress.
