‘Jeopardy! Masters’ contestant Andrew He welcomes son midway through tournament

On Monday night, “Jeopardy! Masters” host Ken Jennings revealed that contestant Andrew He had recently become a father.

“There’s been a big change in your life since we last saw you, right Andrew?” Jennings asked.

“Oh, yeah now I have a newborn son,” the software developer shared. “Thanks to just everyone in the world, I guess, but especially the Jeopardy crew.”

“I had the double blessing of going from being here on the stage to within 24 hours going with my partner and welcoming the arrival of our son,” he continued.

The new dad went on to praise his wife, Sarah, dedicating his game to her: “I just want to say to Sarah, I love you so much. This is for you and I wouldn’t be anywhere near here if not for you. So I’m gonna have to bring something nice for you and everyone.”

The official “Jeopardy!” Instagram account shared the clip, writing alongside it: “Congratulations are in order for Andrew and his family! Can’t wait to see your new addition on the #Jeopardy! stage in a few years 😉”.

He is appearing in the exclusive “Jeopardy!” show that pits the six highest-ranked current contestants against each other. He appeared on Season 38 and was a five-game champion.

The San Francisco-based brainiac became known for his gutsy style of play often wagering everything on the “Daily Double.”

The long-running game show has been in the news of late as co-host, Mayim Bialik walked off set in support of the Writers Guild of America. The departure marked the first game show to be affected by the labor dispute.

Jennings will take over as the sole host for the remainder of the season.
