Great actors and actresses usually have a tendency to either take their work home or relate to their characters on one level or another.

The latter applies to Sanaa Lathan. The veteran actress opened up to People recently about the character in her new film, The Supremes at Earl’s All-You-Can-Eat.

“Each character laces me with something,” she said.

Lathan’s new film is her latest example. The movie follows a group of friends as they hash out the issues of their lives at a diner they frequent. Lathan said that he character, Barbara Jean, is battling alcoholism—something that the 52-year-old is familiar with.

In 2021, Lathan revealed to People that she gave up alcohol three years prior. While she wasn’t a daily drinker, she admitted that alcohol had played a significant role in her life.  She also added that the opportunity to play Barbara Jean has helped her, as she is “a woman in pain that’s self-medicating.”

Erica Banks: I Went Through Hell With My BBL… It Was Scary

Rapper Erica Banks shared in a recent interview with B High TV that she went through “hell” while recovering from her second Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) procedure. She went into detail about her experience, noting that while she was “happy” with the results other second surgery, the rehab was “excruciating.”

“Probably the worst pain I’ve ever experienced in my whole life,” Banks said. “The first day, I passed out. . . When I got back to the Airbnb, I was really hot… you lose a lot of blood.”

Thankfully, Banks had her mother by her side to help with post-op care, but her complications lasted for several months.
