YNW Melly has been slammed by his alleged victim’s mother for a “disrespectful” gesture during his murder trial.
Melly’s double murder trial began earlier this week, relating to the 2018 deaths of YNW Juvy and YNW Sackchaser.
On Wednesday (June 14), YNW Melly was spotted smiling in court before praying and blowing a kiss.
Juvy’s mother, Leondra Phillips, later called out Melly for showing “no remorse” during an interview with NBC 6 South Florida.
“He did it a couple times — that wasn’t his first time,” she said. “I walked out. Because, I don’t… what you praying for? You sitting over there like you don’t got no remorse. Like, every time I walk in, you smiling.”
She added: “This ain’t the time for that. This case is sad, this is serious.”
Phillips’ son, YNW Juvy (real name Anthony Williams), was shot and killed in an SUV along with YNW Sackchaser in 2018.
YNW Melly was arrested and charged with two counts of premeditated murder in 2019 and faces life imprisonment without the possibility of parole or the death penalty if convicted.
Juvy’s mother’s comments come shortly after his father called out Boosie Badazz for attending the trial.
“Man, everybody that’s saying free Melly,” he said before flashing a middle finger to the camera. “That’s to you and your mama and your daddy and everybody that look like you. And that’s me, I said it.
“Y’all are bitches, man. Boosie down there supporting Melly — he flaw as fuck for that. He don’t even know that n-gga Melly. He talking ’bout, ‘I want Melly free ’cause that n-gga bought me snacks and a magazine at the airport.’ What?”
