Taylor Swift returned to the United States on Saturday — ahead of the Super Bowl — but she didn’t rush to see her boyfriend, Travis Kelce.
The pop icon, who was performing in Tokyo, Japan, this weekend, chose to return home to Los Angeles first.
It was a surprising move since she’s expected to attend the Super Bowl in Las Vegas on Sunday, but it was perhaps because of an alleged NFL ruling that prevents players from seeing their wives or girlfriends the night before a big game, reports TMZ.
Because of the alleged mandate, Swift spent Saturday night at her Los Angeles home and will make her way to Sin City to cheer on the Kansas City Chiefs later today.
The “Bad Blood” singer, 34, began her mad rush back to the United States after she wrapped up her final Eras Tour concert in Japan Saturday evening.
An hour after her show ended, journalists spied minivans arrive at Haneda Airport where “someone went inside the gate area as four to five people carrying large black umbrellas obstructed the view of the person.”
She had to travel against several time zones to make it back for Super Bowl LVIII, where she is expected to sit in a VIP suite — that Kelce covered the tab for — with her parents, brother and his girlfriend as well as Kelce’s parents, brother and sister-in-law.
Since the football season began, Swift has been a regular attendee of Kelce’s games, enthusiastically cheering the team on.
However, due to his hectic schedule, the athlete has only made it to one of her concerts, in Argentina.
That’s set to change after Sunday’s game when Kelce will officially be in the off-season and have plenty of time to travel, according to his mom, Donna Kelce.
