Tech N9ne has become the latest in a series of Hip Hop pioneers to be honored with a major hometown accolade.
On Saturday (December 2) the rapper (real name Aaron Dontez Yates) shared that he’s been awarded with a proclamation in Kansas City, Missouri by Mayor Quinton Lucas.
“Yesterday! 1. Mayor @quinton_lucas put on one of my @chiefs @strangemusicinc @prostandard and @nfl collaboration jackets and read my PROCLAMATION CERTIFICATE to me. [mind blown emoji],” he wrote on Instagram, alongside a video montage featuring snaps from the special ceremony.
“2. I went up to tell my story in speech style within 3 minutes. 3. The wonderful and respectful City council members gave me some really kind words of their own and shook every one of their hands with gratitude,” he added.
He continued: “4.I posed with my PROCLAMATION CERTIFICATE then with my partner @strangemusicceo then another with him my uncle Ike and my friend and colleague who hooked this whole thing up @seantylerkc and I had the pleasure of congratulating the @east_kcps boys soccer team on their WIN. WHAT AN HONOR KC! THANK YOU! [praying hands emoji].”
