Lucy-Bleu Knight’s cause of death has been revealed over a month after her stepdad, Slash, announced she had died at 25.
The Post exclusively reported that the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s Office determined the makeup artist had died from hydrogen sulfide toxicity. The manner of death was suicide.
Hydrogen sulfide is a poisonous, flammable gas that can be fatal to humans if exposed for too long, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Symptoms of acute exposure include nausea, headaches, disorientation or confusion, memory loss, disturbed equilibrium, convulsions and more.
The coroner’s office further told the outlet, “Ms. Knight was found unresponsive in a private residence on July 19 by law enforcement conducting a welfare check. Death was pronounced at 1500 hours.
“An examination was performed by a deputy medical examiner on July 22. The cause of death was certified on August 29.”
The Guns N’ Roses guitarist, whose real name is Saul Hudson, announced his stepdaughter’s death on his Instagram page on July 21.
In the gutwrenching post, he described Lucy-Bleu as “a talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a charming, lovable, sweet soul.”
In a follow-up message from July 27, the 59-year-old rocker shared a selfie of Lucy-Bleu and expressed how heartbroken he was over her death.
“My heart is permanently [sic] fractured. I will never ever stop missing you & remembering what a beacon of happiness, laughter, creativity & beauty you have always been. & still are,” he penned.
“The brightest light in the lives of so many that loved you so much. I find solace in the hope that you are at peace now. I will love you eternally.”
