Megan Thee Stallion & Reneé Rapp Take ‘SNL’ With ‘Not My Fault’

by UNN Feed

Megan Thee Stallion and Reneé Rapp are keeping the excitement around their hit single “Not My Fault” alive, this time with a surprise TV performance.

Rapp was the musical guest on the January 20 episode of Saturday Night Live, which featured Saltburn actor Jacob Elordi as the host.

In the second and final musical segment, which was introduced by Rachel McAdams (who played the OG Regina George in the original Mean Girls film), the new Regina George sang “Not My Fault,” and brought out “the Black Regina George” to spit her verse.

Check out the clip from the performance below.

The title of the song is a reference to a quote from the film by protagonist Cady, originally played by Lindsay Lohan: “It’s not my fault you’re, like, in love with me or something.”

It’s funny how the mean girl open all the doors/ But I been told y’all, I’m the black Regina George/ Bikini top, booty shorts, Megan-core/ You was hatin’ back then, now you finna hate more/ I got influence, they do anything I endorse/ I run shit, to be a bad bitch is a sport,” Megan spits on her verse.

The Mean Girls reboot dropped in theaters on January 12, but it hasn’t been without its controversies.

Megan Thee Stallion recently replaced Lindsay Lohan as the face of Planet Fitness in the chain’s new campaign, which saw her criticized by Lohan’s father on social media.

Michael Lohan took to Twitter on Tuesday (January 16) to body-shame Megan with side-by-side photos of her campaign and his daughter Lindsay’s 2022 Super Bowl commercial.

“I’m sorry, but you’re going to compare this…to this…in the “fitness” industry. Lol.. really,” he wrote.
