Lil Yachty and ScHoolboy Q are two of rap’s biggest stars, but even they were stunned by Lil Wayne’s “insane” album sales.

In an episode of the A Safe Place Podcast that aired on Wednesday (March 27), the two MCs reflected on the changing eras of album sales and how impressive Weezy’s run was.

Yachty began: “Lil Wayne did a million on a leaked, bootleg album! Tha Carter III. I had that album months before it came out. N-gga at the barber shop had it in the back of his Buick.”

A producer also noted that Weezy’s Rebirth album did 176,000 units in its first week, which blew Yachty away.

He added: “That’s insane. Everyone clowned Rebirth. That’s his rock album, right? He was Drake before Drake!”

Check out the conversation below, which begins at about the 28:20 mark.
