Lil Kim Says She Has Written For Other Artists Including Diddy

by UNN Feed

Lil Kim has revealed that she’s written songs for other artists — including Sean “Diddy” Combs back in his “all up in the videos” days in the 1990s.

In an interview with XXL that celebrated her iconic status in the game, the “Black Friday” rapper compared her repertoire to that of Michael Jackson, and revealed that she once wrote for the famous multi-hyphenate.

“To me, my albums start from Notorious K.I.M., ’cause Hard Core is a classic,” she said. “It’s just something different. It’s a staple. It’s monumental, like something that just is like in a museum. You don’t even put a number on it, you know what I mean?”

She continued: “It’s just something like how I look at Michael Jackson’s albums, you know what I mean? It’s just a classic. And by the way, all this talk about writing, I’ve wrote for other people. As it turns out, despite Lil Kim’s earlier claims dating all the way back to 2014 that Biggie wrote all her raps, she was, in fact, a prolific songwriter on some 1990s rap classics. One such example, according to Vibe, is her little-known songwriting credit on “What You Gonna Do,” which was released on the 1997 album, No Way Out, by Puff Daddy & The Family.

But while Lil Kim isn’t afraid to demand respect from the youngins in the game, one rapper who was quick to pay tribute to the Queen was Coi Leray, who invoked memories of the infamous Hard Core cover when she let the world know about her upcoming eponymous sophomore album.
