Katharine McPhee and David Foster’s son, Rennie, is already a rock star.
The 3-year-old made his stage debut to show off his wildly impressive drum skims during his parents’ concert at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC, on Sunday.
“had a VERY special guest join us on stage for the first time #ProudMom,” McPhee captioned an Instagram video of her son’s performance.
Wearing large headphones to protect his ears, Rennie showed off his skills by keeping the rhythm on his mini drum set as McPhee, 39, and Foster, 74, watched in complete awe beside him.
The proud mom later clarified that her son was just drumming along as the couple’s professional drummer led the charge.
“By the way… I hope people realize that JR -the legend-@johnjrrobinson1 -our incredible drummer is drumming & Rennie is only copying to the best of his ability unmic’d,” she explained in the comments section of her post.
“It was cute to watch his first on stage debut.”
Several friends and fans of McPhee and Foster flooded the comments section to praise the little one’s musical abilities.
“This is WIIIIILD!!!” Brooklyn Decker wrote.
“This is simultaneously the cutest and the most incredible thing I’ve seen,” a fan commented.
“Haha omg he’s too good I can’t deal. Bring him to every show!” another begged.
“So now he’s GIGGING?? I CAN’T with this fella!!” a third fan exclaimed.
“@katharinefoster My wife and I saw your [sic] guys last night at the Kennedy Center! What an incredible show! Your beautiful son was the cherry on a great sundae!!!” one more netizen added.
The “American Idol” alum first revealed Rennie’s drumming talents when she posted an Instagram video of her husband watching their son play the instrument in January.
“my 2 year old baby is a genius!” she captioned the post at the time.
