Earl Sweatshirt Demands Answers Over Jimmy Butler’s ‘Fake’ Dreadlocks

by UNN Feed

Earl Sweatshirt still isn’t over Jimmy Butler’s pre-season dreadlocks and wants some answers regarding the Miami Heat star’s much-talked about hairstyle.

The Odd Future rapper called out Jimmy Buckets and implored the NBA media to get to the bottom of why Butler donned the alleged deadlock extensions to the Miami Heat’s media day in September where the legend of Dread Head Jimbo was born.

“All I ask is that one of you interviewers in this post season please ask jimmy wtf was on his mind when he did the fake dreds,” the Chicago native wrote to Twitter on Monday night (May 22).

He continued: “Salute to the underdog of sorts but also we can’t just forget and forgive this easily!”

While Butler scrimmaged in the viral dreadlocks and took pre-season summer trips to Colombia and New York City styling his hair differently, he never actually suited up in an NBA game with them.

Although, the drastic change to his hairstyle and clean-shaven face made for great social media fodder on media day last September which fans had a blast with by creating an array of memes and clips.

“There might not be a bigger troll in the NBA than Miami’s Jimmy Butler,” ESPN reporter Brian Windhorst said at the time.

Earl Sweatshirt might be interested in a piece published by The Ringer earlier this week that delved into the legend of Dread Head Jimbo. “We knew it was going to be a big deal,” Butler’s hairstylist said. “It ended up being a way bigger deal than we imagined it to be.”
