Doja Cat has decided to celebrate Halloween early with the release of her latest video “Demons” with actress Christina Ricci being right in the center of the ghoulish visual — watch below.
On Thursday (August 31), the “Vegas” rapper appeared in the video as an assortment of evil deities while scaring the living hell out of Christina Ricci.
At the opening of the video, Doja crawls around a bedroom ceiling as an all Black demon, with red, piercing eyes while Ricci looks at her in despair.
As Ricci continues to try and escape Doja Cat’s demonic grasp, she runs into constant roadblocks that try to thwart her plans, including an assortment of other demons.
Christina Ricci is no stranger to appearing in scary projects, as she’s had iconic roles in cult-classic films such as The Addams Family and Casper.
“Demons” is the third single from Doja’s new album Scarlet which drops later this month.The Grammy-winning rapper/singer took to Instagram on Tuesday (August 29) to share the title, cover art and release date for her eagerly anticipated fourth LP, which is set to arrive on September 22.
Staying true to the creepy and somewhat morbid imagery of her recent music videos, social media posts and tattoos, the artwork depicts a purple spider in front of a blank white background, with a drop of purple liquid (possibly blood or venom) near its fangs.
“SCARLET 9.22,” Doja wrote in the caption next to a spider emoji.
But after the album announcement, Doja Cat was forced to change the cover on Thursday (August 31).
The previous album cover was revealed on IG in a since-deleted post, and featured just one red spider. The new album artwork, however, features two mother-of-pearl-colored spiders that seem to be locked in a battle with one another.
