DJ Quik is not one to hold his tongue, and a number of Twitter trolls found this out this week when the Compton OG went off on them during a social media tirade.
It all started on Friday (April 14) when Quik called out a troll who shared a photo of Tracee Ellis Ross dressed in a DJ Quik costume. “New album cover?” the user inquired.

Things then escalated when two other trolls took aim at Quik’s 1991 song “Quik Is the Name.”
“Sorry this is wack as fuck,” one troll said about the song.
“You wack as fuck. Suck a dick or sumn dumb n-gguh,” Quik retorted before taking aim at another troll criticizing the record.
“I’ll slap the shit outta you,” Quik said, before concluding: “Ima learn you ‘thumb’ gangstas today.”

“Quik Is The Name” appeared on Quik’s debut album of the same name, which peaked at No. 29 on the Billboard 200 and eventually went platinum in 1995.
The tirade comes as Quik gets ready to release his forthcoming 10th album. Previewing the project with lead single “Class” in March, the album — the name of which has not been released — will reportedly be Quik’s last.
The legendary producer also announced a series of shows as part of the Cali Classic Tour, which will also feature Mack 10, Warren G, Tha Dogg Pound, Suga Free, Amanda Perez, and Kid Frost. Tickets are available here.
In regards to the new single, DJ Quik informed Rock the Bells that securing the rights to the sample he used by Leroy Hutson — one of the surviving members of The Impressions — was relatively easy.
