Cardi B‘s longtime friend Star Brim has been sentenced to one year and one day in prison after pleading guilty to one count of conspiracy to maiming and assault in aid of racketeering.
According to court documents obtained by HipHopDX, the accused gang leader (real name Yvonne Respass) was sentenced by Judge George B. Daniels on Thursday (March 7). In addition to the time — which will be served at the federal facility in Danbury, CT beginning on July 1 — Star will be required to serve three years of supervised probation.
Further along the lines of the order, Judge Daniels required that Star turn over a sample of her DNA and pay $100 in impact fees.

In the federal system, there is no parole. However, any prisoner who is serving a sentence of more than a year in prison is entitled to 15 percent of their time off for good behavior — and that includes Star Brim. So she could be out in as little as ten-and-a-half months.
Brim’s sentencing marks the conclusion of a case that began when she was caught up in a 2020 federal sweep of the New York Bloods Gang subset, 5-9 Brims.
At that time, according to the Department of Justice, Star Brim was amongst one of the 18 members charged with various racketeering, narcotics, and firearms offenses, including murder and attempted murder.
Brim was also identified in the case of an alleged violent assault that initial reports claimed involved Cardi B. The violence was directed against two sisters working as bartenders at the Queens strip club Angel’s back in August of 2018.
It was first reported Cardi herself ordered the attack on the two bartenders, now identified as Rachel and Sarah Wattley, but court documents reveal it was Star who allegedly commissioned the hit while doing prison time in Connecticut that same year.
