Mindy Kaling gushed over her ex-boyfriend B.J. Novak after addressing rumors that he was the father of her three children.
“He’s such an important and integral part of my family,” the actress said about her “Office” co-star while accepting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame Tuesday.
“Sometimes I forget that the reason that I know him is because we worked together professionally.”
Kaling, 45, quipped, “I’m as starstruck by him now at age 29 as I was when I first met [him] — at 24.”
The “Mindy Project” star and Novak met in 2004 on “The Office” set when they were around 24 years old, and have maintained an amicable relationship despite dating on and off from 2004 to 2007.
Novak, 45, also spoke at the “Mindy Project” star’s induction ceremony and honored her for “being a brilliant and wildly successful showrunner,” as well as “an incredible mother of three, a deep and caring daughter and friend and mentor to so many.”
“You’d be on the walk of talent if they had one,” he added. “You’d be on the walk of friendship. You’d be on the walk of compassionate parenthood.”
The actor continued, “But let’s face it, all of these would be terrible field trips, so here you are instead, very deservedly, a person who means so much to so many on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
Novak jokingly reassured the audience that Kaling was also “very superficial” in her “spare time.”
Kaling is the proud mother of her daughters Katherine Swati, 7, and Anne, 1, and son Spencer Avu, 4.
She has yet to reveal the identity of her children’s father, which has caused fans to speculate if it is Novak.
