Yankees celebrate 1998 squad with Fresco By Scotto reunion

The 1998 Yankees had a nighttime reunion at Midtown power eatery Fresco by Scotto after being celebrated and playing a game at Yankee Stadium on the team’s annual Old-Timers’ Day, we hear.

Said a spy: “Derek Jeter was schmoozing with Jorge Posada and Tino Martinez, while Darryl Strawberry joined [the party] with skipper Joe Torre.”

A source said that catching great Posada recalled hammering out his contract at the eatery.

“Jorge was overheard telling Fresco’s owners how he spent time at this restaurant with the Yankees’ management team discussing his contract back in the day,” said the source.

Then again, Posada didn’t play in the exhibition earlier in the day, because, “I’ve got a bad shoulder,” he told MLB.com. “I can’t even throw a ball to you . . . I don’t think I could hit the ball. I didn’t want to embarrass myself out there.”

A spy tells that at the dinner, “Jeter was in a great mood, table-hopping and saying hello to other diners” — including “Bridesmaids” director Paul Feig, Jimmy Fallon’s longtime “Tonight Show” announcer Steve Higgins and Higgins’ son John, who is an “SNL” writer like his dad.

The spy added: “The Yankees’ party was scheduled for two hours, but went late as they wined and dined,” and the team reminisced about their 114-game wining season that included highlights such as pitcher David Wells’ perfect game.

When the Bronx Bombers were honored at Yankee Stadium, “The Captain” Jeter, 49, said, “We don’t get together as a group that often, but when we do, it feels like we’ve never left each other . . . We played together since I was 18 years old. Even though we don’t see each other, it still feels like we’re together.”
