Priyanka Chopra ditches NYC restaurant Sona that she started with pal after 2 years

Things may have gotten a little too spicy at Sona, it seems. 

Hollywood star Priyanka Chopra and her pal Maneesh Goyal turned their upscale Flat Iron District Indian restaurant into a sceney spot — and a hub for the city’s elite Indian crowd.

So foodie insiders were shocked when Mrs. Nick Jonas left the business unexpectedly over the summer, just two years after it launched. 

The pair made nice after the exit, with a rep for the “Quantico” actress telling People, “Bringing Sona to life will invariably be a proud and significant moment in her career . . . Priyanka has always endeavored to bring Indian culture to the fore through storytelling, whether that’s via engaging content for film and TV, or a beautifully plated dish that embodies the haute cuisine of India.” 

And Goyal said that working with her had been “a dream come true.”

 “We’re grateful for her partnership and support,” he told the magazine. “While she will no longer be involved as a creative partner moving forward, she remains in the Sona family and we are excited for our respective new chapters ahead.”

But a month after her exit, there are still rumors that Chopra left on bad terms. 

Adding to the intrigue, it seems that the Indian in-crowd’s Diwali plans are a little less cozy than before. 

‘Picking sides’

While Goyal and Chopra BFF Anjula Acharia hosted a joint Diwali bash last fall at the Pierre Hotel, The Post is told that this year, Acharia is having her party at the Pierre again and Goyal is hosting a separate one at the Mandarin Oriental.

 An insider said it’s left the South Asian chic set picking sides, with one likening the dual parties to a post-divorce holiday: “It’s like, who’s going to Mom’s party and who’s going to Dad’s?”
