Donald Trump may have come face to face with his former “fixer” Michael Cohen in his ongoing Manhattan fraud trial at the same time that multiple former attorneys have flipped on him in his Georgia election interference case, but pals say he seems “unfazed” while ordering steak frites from Midtown’s Trump Tower.
An insider told : “Trump’s in Trump Tower, unfazed and happy.”
The insider added, “He’s acting like nothing’s wrong. He’s projecting strength and seems on top of the world, not nervous or anxious.”
The public seems equally unbothered, with New Yorkers giving President Biden only a nine-point edge over Trump in a new poll. He also has gotten some encouraging numbers in key battleground states.
The former president has not seemed to be in such a good mood in court. He stormed out of his New York civil fraud trial on Wednesday after he was called to the stand for surprise questioning.
The judge fined him for breaching a gag order by maligning the court’s lead law clerk. But Trump denied in court he was speaking about the clerk when he griped to reporters that “a person who is very partisan” was sitting “alongside” the judge, who is deciding the $250 million fraud case against him.
At the same time, Trump has a narrow edge over President Biden among voters who dislike both major-party front-runners across three battleground states, a Democrat-commissioned poll found.
The former president leads Biden 51% to 48% among the so-called “double-haters” in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin in the poll, NBC News first reported.
The poll showed that “double-haters” are more likely to be men with college degrees who identify as Republicans.
