Black History Now Awards

by The Urban News

Honoring educators and leaders in our communities working to defend the truth in our education system.

In light of the ongoing attacks against Black history in the classroom and on college campuses, Color Of Change is producing an awards show that builds cultural celebration alongside national and local leaders taking a stand against anti-critical race theory efforts. As several states have signed restrictions on teaching racial history into law in the past year, the time to prioritize Black history is now.

This show will be full of live performances, poetry readings, and speeches from award winners. The show will be streamed live on Monday, February 27, 2023 beginning at 8 p.m. To watch, go to colorofchange.org/blackhistorynow.

The right wing continues to threaten, reprimand, and fire educators who teach the complete history of this country. But, our communities are fighting back. Color Of Change designs campaigns powerful enough to end practices that unfairly hold Black people back, and champion solutions that move us all forward.
