Samara Joy has released her first collection of holiday songs.
The six-song release serves as an extension of her latest album Linger Awhile.
A Joyful Holiday features two previously available holiday singles plus four new never-before-heard tracks. Joy, who is 24 years old, won two awards at the 2023 Grammy Awards: Best Jazz Vocal Album for Linger Awhile, and Best New Artist.
A Joyful Holiday includes her light and swinging version of “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas,” “O Holy Night,” which Joy performs with members of her family, plus a new recording of Stevie Wonder’s “Twinkle Twinkle Little Me” featuring Sullivan Fortner. “The Christmas Song (Live)” features a duet with Samara and her father Antonio McLendon captured live in 2022.
Joy has also scheduled a Joyful Holiday Tour, which begins December 1, 2023, with performances in Houston, Nashville, Atlanta, and Philadelphia, plus two shows at the Apollo Theater in New York City.
