Summer Internships at the NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources

Essential components of the program include professional development, leadership training, and networking opportunities.

The deadline has been extended for North Carolina students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Minority Institutions of Higher Education to apply for 10-week paid summer internships within the NC Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (NCDNCR).

The new deadline to apply is February 3, 2023.

The program will expose, engage, and educate students through real-world experience within divisions of NCDNCR. The internships may be at one of the state historic sites, NC Symphony, NC Art Museum, State Parks, NC Aquarium, State Capitol, NC Zoo, or another state attraction.

Essential components include professional development, leadership training, and networking opportunities. Some internship opportunities will be on site and others virtual. The program is a partnership with the state’s HBCUs and the Minority Institution of Higher Education.

Rising juniors, seniors, and graduate students may apply by submitting an application, résumé, cover letter, and transcript to [email protected].

Requirements

  • Must submit a cover letter, transcript, and résumé.
  • Must have a 2.5 or higher GPA
  • Must be a North Carolina resident and a student currently attending an HBCU or a Minority Institution of Higher Education (MIHE) in the United States
  • Must work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks this summer (will be paid $15.00 per hour)
