Self-Help Credit Union branches at 391 S. French Broad and 1911 Hendersonville Rd. are each offering a $1,000 scholarship to a local student who demonstrates a commitment to community service.
Applicants will be evaluated on their record of leadership and volunteer experience giving back to their local community. Students from our local area must be enrolled in an accredited post-secondary educational institution, which includes colleges, universities, technical, trade, and vocational schools.
Self-Help has provided scholarships to local students since 2015 as a way to help strengthen communities and support higher education to improve lives. Each branch awards a scholarship to a student from its neighboring community. Last year branches across the Southeast invested over $33,000 in student leaders striving to make a positive impact on the future.
