The Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at A-B Tech has selected Angela Calhoun as the first of several employees to honor during Black History Month.
Each Friday during February, the DEI Office will share national and local Black history facts and shout-outs to A-B Tech employees.
Calhoun, a Librarian Assistant in the Don C. Locke Library, has been an employee with A-B Tech for 29 years. Calhoun began her journey in higher education as a student at A-B Tech and continued to earn a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from The University of Phoenix, and a Master of Library & Information Science from University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Calhoun is known for her activism in the community and walks in the spirit of knowing her journey is not her own, but that she is on the path that God wants her on.
When asked about Angela, one member of the A-B Tech community stated, “I adore Angela. She always greets me with a warm smile and a hello and makes the library a place where I feel welcome.” The A-B Tech community would like to thank Angela for her service to our institution and her love of supporting our students.
