A May 16 House Oversight Committee hearing will go down in history as the day Rep. Crockett brought the heat to her conservative colleague, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA). The meeting took a turn for the worse when Greene made a shady comment about Crockett’s eyelashes.
When the committee chair ruled that Greene’s comments were not a violation of House rules, Crockett asked for clarification.
“I’m just curious, just to better understand your ruling,” she said. “If someone on this committee then starts talking about somebody’s bleach blond, bad-built butch body, that would not be engaging in personalities, correct?”
It didn’t take long for her beautifully alliterative shade to go viral and inspire memes, songs and remixes all over social media.
