ADAMS COUNTY, Ill. — United Way of Adams County Community Building Council Poverty Team has established a new resource to coincide with Financial Literacy Month.

The website serves as a centralized hub for access to financial literacy classes, guidance and other essential local resources. National Financial Literacy Month is celebrated in April and is a timely opportunity for everyone to review personal financial situations.

Natalie Cornwell, director of Community Impact and Investment for United Way, explained the collaborative effort with Quincy University’s communications class in researching local agency offerings and initial website design.

In a press release, Cornwell said, “This website is for anyone in the community seeking financial literacy resources. The goal is to provide an easy way for individuals to navigate these services without having to spend time searching, calling and seeking out what is offered in Adams County. Most of the services are offered at no cost.”

United Way of Adams County underscores its commitment to supporting residents in achieving financial stability. This initiative aligns with the Community Needs Plan, developed through collaboration between Blessing Health System, Adams County Health Department and United Way of Adams County. The plan aims to lift families out of poverty by providing sustained financial stability.

The website features programs and classes offered by more than 20 local organizations, including social service agencies, educational institutions, banks and credit unions.
