Master Your Money: Montgomery County’s Free Financial Literacy Seminars

The Montgomery County Commission for Women and Montgomery County Public Libraries are hosting free seminars this month on various personal finance topics.

The seminars will be conducted via Zoom from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, with the first session on May 7 focusing on financial planning. The seminars, open to all, will be led by financial and investment advisors Jamie Lapin and Thiago Glieger.

The free financial seminars offered during May include:

  • May 7: Financial Planning 101. This seminar will cover the basics of financial planning, including essential terms and tools to equip attendees with the knowledge needed for financial success.
  • May 14: Retirement Planning. This session will focus on strategies for effective retirement planning and address the common concern of ensuring financial resources last throughout one’s retirement years.
  • May 21: Social Security and Medicare. Attendees will learn how to utilize and maximize the benefits of government programs they have contributed to throughout their working lives.
  • May 28: Divorce and Money. This seminar will provide guidance on maintaining financial health during and after divorce and address its financial implications.
