Political insiders celebrate Melissa DeRosa’s book

by UNN Feed

While memoirs by Britney Spears and John Stamos dropped on Tuesday, political insiders were champing at the bit — or quaking in their boots — over a different bombshell tome by former governor Andrew Cuomo’s top aide, Melissa DeRosa.

To celebrate the publication of “What’s Left Unsaid: My Life at the Center of Power, Politics & Crisis,” politicos and celebs gathered at the Chelsea Hotel on Monday night, where DeRosa held court in a floor length hot pink Chanel silk gown.

Spotted toasting the book were Katie Holmes, Tribeca Enterprises cofounder Jane Rosenthal, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin, and Cuomo, as well as MSNBC analyst Susan Del Percio, City Hall players Ingrid Lewis-Martin and Menashe Shapiro and a host of top p.r. strategists.

Spies say Rosenthal, a close friend of DeRosa who also hosted the evening, gave a warm toast, praising the author’s “passion, courage and strength.”

We exclusively reported in April that DeRosa had inked a book deal, and a source told us at the time that, “DeRosa takes readers into room after room where decisions are being made, hardball politics play out and crises unfold.”

One anecdote in the book alleges that President Trump once tried to prank-call Cuomo’s little brother, former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo, from the White House’s Oval Office.
