Alexandra Grant is still smitten with boyfriend Keanu Reeves after four years of dating.
“He’s such an inspiration to me,” she told People at the Los Angeles Beverly Arts Icon Awards Friday.
“He’s so creative, he’s so kind. He works so hard.”
When asked about attending events without the “John Wick” star by her side, Grant shared, “The good news about falling in love as an adult is that I had built my own career by the time that my relationship had begun.
“I feel very confident in the relationship on the red carpet. I feel confident on it alone.”
The visual artist, 50, added that their connection is both “interdependent and independent in the best ways.”
Grant also revealed that Reeves, 59, has been a longtime source of inspiration in her life and career.
“What I love about Keanu and our exchange is that we’re pushing each other to build new roads,” she said. “Seeing the other person’s problem-solving is inspiring.”
Additionally, the Los Angeles-based creator confessed that her art has “absolutely” changed since she began dating the “Matrix” actor in 2019.
“I had a studio visit a few years ago, and this very kind, very high-level person said, ‘I can see that your work has gotten happier,’” Grant recalled.
“That’s real. We’re all human beings. We’re animals. We’re expressing from where we are and certainly feeling happier. I think the work is happier.”

The couple had been friends and colleagues for years before taking their relationship to the next level. The visual artist even provided the illustrations for Reeves’ 2011 picture book, “Ode to Happiness.”
The pair collaborated again on the art book “Shadows” in 2016.
Meanwhile, Grant explained to People that her boyfriend didn’t attend Friday’s event because he was performing with his band, Dogstar.
