The adidas LFSTLR Collection is a Win for Fashion and Football

Football jerseys are a big deal right now. They’ve transcended the realm of being strictly match-day attire. Wearing a jersey ‘just because’ has become the norm—and even given birth to microtrends such as Blokecore.

With that in mind, adidas’ LFSTLR collection couldn’t have come at a better time. The inspired capsule reimagines the third jerseys of five of the world’s leading football clubs – Arsenal, FC Bayern, Juventus, Manchester United, and Real Madrid. The collection debuted at Neu York, our transformative NYFW pop-up experience in the city that never sleeps.

Placing the focus on the individuality of each jersey, adidas invited a prominent cultural figure to be the creative lead for each redesign. Arsenal linked with Pusha T. FC Bayern collaborated with polymath Achraf. Juventus tapped into Italian style with fashion photographer Giampaolo Sgura. Manchester United teamed up with Nigerian Afropop singer-songwriter, Adekunle Gold. And Real Madrid with Mexican rapper Alemán.

As a result, each jersey has its own personality and history. Arsenal reworks its ’80s-inspired third jersey with a heavy double-knit fabric and an XL take on the iconic cannon. Bayern enahnced theirs with premium details such as a Bavarian Mountain flowers graphic pattern engineered in the jacquard fabric. Meanwhile, Manchester United opted for a crisp and clean aesthetic, with a white jersey and a tonal adidas motif, ensuring the red devil crest pops.

When it comes to Juventus, they switched out performance fabrics with heavyweight terry and tonal badges. And, finally, Real Madrid’s jersey features a subtle diamonds-and-pearls pattern as a base, with the club’s badge on the chest and an “RMFC” signoff on the collar.
