‘Tis the end of an era. Rihanna is saying goodbye to her CEO role at Savage X Fenty.
Indeed, Rihanna is stepping down from her thrown at her lingerie label, with former Anthropologie CEO Hillary Super set to take her place as the new Savage X Fenty head.
The change goes into motion on June 26, which means only three more days with Rih as the Savage CEO (wipes corner tear).
But don’t be sad. Rihanna will still be a part of Savage X Fenty but’ll be moving to an executive chair.
Super — whose resume includes previous positions at GAP, Guess, and American Eagle — is focused on “taking the business to an even higher level,” per Rihanna.
There’s an increased emphasis on retail expansion in Savage X’s future. Rihanna’s five-year-old brand currently has stores located in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Houston, and Atlanta — with hopes of opening even more.
Rihanna shook the intimates world in 2018 when she launched Savage X Fenty. It’s a genuinely inclusive lingerie brand, from sizing to the diverse casts comprising its yearly fashion show. Sorry, Victoria’s Secret who?
Though, we’re still scratching our heads over the Johnny Depp moment. But anywho. The shows. Savage X Fenty’s televised fashion shows are easily one of the most anticipated fashion events of the year.
Each year, Savage X Fenty puts on a star-studded spectacle, which all began with its New York Fashion Week presentation in 2018.
Over the years, we’ve seen names like Taraji P. Henson, Normani, Bella Hadid, and Gigi Hadid secure star moments and performances by acts like Big Sean, Migos, and Don Toliver. In between, models dance and strut in the latest Savage X Fenty pieces, with Parris Gloebel’s energetic choreography emphasizing the garments’ security and quality. Genius.
Having landed collaborations with Adam Selman and sizzling campaigns starring the bad gal, Savage X Fenty is quite iconic, like its mogul founder.
