NBA YoungBoy Equals Drake & Future’s Chart Record As ‘Richest Opp’ Makes Billboard Splash

by UNN Feed

NBA YoungBoy has again tied with Drake and Future’s current chart record after Richest Opps debuted in the top-ten of the Billboard 200.

The latest album from the Baton Rouge rapper debuted at No. 4 on this week’s chart, with 51,000 album-equivalent units sold in its first week.

This placement, per Chart Data, means that YoungBoy tied Drizzy and King Pluto with having 15 projects in the Billboard 200 top 10 albums as a rapper, the third highest amount in US history. The only two MC’s that surpassed the three aforementioned rap stars are JAY-Z and Nas with 16.

While Hov may still reign supreme, NBA YoungBoy had previously bested the rap mogul for having the most Billboard 200 entries. JAY-Z still has the highest number of No. 1 placements on the Billboard 200 with 14, while YoungBoy only sports 3, but after YoungBoy’s Ma’ I Got a Family tape debuted at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 last November, his grand total on the chart was brought up to 25, surpassing Hov, who has 24.

YoungBoy’s current tie with the 6 God is also notable because the Top rapper seemed to throw shade at Drizzy on Richest Opp’s ninth track “Fuck The Industry Pt. 2.”
