Are you looking to start a new career in IT and work remotely?
In partnership with Per Scholas, A-B Tech is now offering free boot camp-style IT Support training, equipping individuals with the skills needed to secure remote, high-wage tech jobs.
The IT Support training is a 35-hour per week, 13-week online course valued at more than $10,000. The next session is set for June 9 to September 16, M–F, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Learn more and register at abtech.edu/IT-Support.
The training, funded by a grant from the BlackRock Foundation to Charlotte-based Per Scholas, addresses a significant tech workforce gap in the state. While North Carolina’s booming IT sector has seen an 18% increase in unique job postings since last year, many communities continue to struggle with low wages and limited job opportunities.
“As part of our mission to provide economic opportunities for our community, we have been developing a partnership with Per Scholas for over a year,” said Deborah D. Bailey, A-B Tech’s Vice President for Economic and Workforce Development & Continuing Education. “We are fortunate that the pieces of the partnership have come together when our community needs it most. This funding and training will help residents gain skills that provide a living wage and hopefully encourage people to remain in our region following the devastation from the hurricane.”
The Per Scholas course provides real-world experience managing and troubleshooting enterprise IT systems and equips graduates for a variety of careers, including:
- IT Support Specialist
- Help Desk Technician
- Desktop Support Technician
- Computer Repair Technician
- System Administrator Assistant
- Field Service Technician
- IT Assistant
No previous technology experience is required to enroll. Through A-B Tech’s partnership with Per Scholas, students also will receive additional resources and support to enhance…
