Chiquitos preschool believes in holistic child-centered learning through play.
In their program, children develop foundational skills through interactive learning, storytelling, and artistic expression. Their programs are designed to provide a nurturing environment where children can explore, create, and learn through Spanish and art immersion.
Created by Marsha Almodovar, the program is dedicated to fostering a love for learning and creativity in every child. Almodovar has lived in Asheville for about 16 years. She is a mother and painter who had a career in education and nonprofits. In 2023 she received a Tzedek Impact Social Justice award. She used the award funds to illustrate, write, and publish a Spanish-language child book. That process led her to lean into her true calling, to work with children and launch a Spanish-and-Art-based program.
