The memory of Odell Irby, who passed away on June 4, 2024 at the age of 76, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by his presence in their lives.

Odell was born May 8, 1948, in Asheville, NC to the late Will Irby and Mattie Lee Salters Irby. A US veteran, Odell was self-employed, specializing in completing home repair projects and working on cars. Odell would have a conversation with anyone, but he especially enjoyed talking to his Flint St./Montford neighbors. He loved his family.
Odell was predeceased by his siblings, James David Irby (Buck), William Irby (Shorty), Edgar Paul Irby (Pete) and Sarah Jo Irby Beatty.
Left to cherish his memory are his sisters, Hanan Shabazz, Susan Ann Mosley, and Tina Irby; his niece Annette Larkins; and his beloved dog Chocolate. Odell left lasting memories and he will be missed by nieces, great-nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends.
Services were held at Ray Funeral & Cremation Service on Saturday, June 8, 2024.
