“The Blind Eye” Book Release

by The Urban News

A new book by Natasha Jean is about her experience with domestic violence.

The Blind Eye tells the story of how she lived her life physically, mentally, and emotionally through the blind eye.

On Saturday, April 20, 2024, Jean will sign and discuss her book while offering attendees the opportunity to empower themselves with the knowledge and the confidence to be loved the right way. It is an opportunity to discover the resources available for those seeking to break free and reclaim their independence.

The message Jean wants her readers to get from The Blind Eye is this: if you’re involved in a domestic violence situation, you have a choice to leave before it gets progressively worse.

The author’s experience

Natasha Jean’s own domestic violence experience led, literally, to her losing an eye and replacing it with a prosthetic—The Blind Eye. Fortunately, she found the courage to leave her abusive relationship—and so can you!

A great deal of literature exists on domestic violence and the tragic events women endure in unhealthy relationships, as well as survival tactics and how to successfully leave abusive relationships without harm. Natasha Jean’s presentation will include stories from domestic violence survivors, information about resources and women’s empowerment, and a plated dinner and a fashion show!

A copy of The Blind Eye will be provided with each paid ticket, and those who attend may have Jean autograph their copies at the event. Additional books will be available for purchase.

The Blind Eye Book Release takes place 4-8 p.m. on Saturday, April 20, at Circa 29, 56 Patton Avenue in Asheville. To purchase tickets, go to eventbrite.com.
