Joe Budden Questions True Motive Behind Drake’s Support For Sexyy Red

Joe Budden has revealed that he is skeptical as to whether Drake’s support for Sexyy Red and others younger artists is solely related to their music.

The Hip Hop personality took to his eponymous podcast on Thursday (March 28) to outline his theory on Drake’s fascination with the St. Louis-born rapper in particular.

Budden seemed to suggest that Drake’s co-sign is so valuable that labels pay him to prop up their other artists, hence his recent fascination with Sexyy Red.

He began: “Respectfully, it sound like a n-gga that could rap at that level that gets paid off of everybody’s deal tryna rap. That’s what it sound like to me…Oh, you think he just like being around Sexyy Red that much?…I can name some more people.”

Drake seemingly responded to the dig, posting a photo of Budden to his Instagram stories after a show in Elmont, NY over the weekend. He wrote: “WHATS THE VIBES NY?!?”

During the show, Drake issued another firm warning to his haters while performing on stage during the aforementioned tour stop. The OVO boss brought his It’s All a Blur Tour – Big As the What? to the UBS Arena in Belmont Park, which is located in Elmont.

True to form, Drizzy used his performance to confront his ongoing feud with Kendrick Lamar, though it could have addressed Budden’s comments, too.

Capitalizing on a performance of “Energy,” with the chorus “I got enemies, got a lot of enemies” — on repeat, Drake exclaimed, “Fuck these n-ggas,” referencing “rap guys” targeting him.

Drake’s fiery delivery closely followed a string of statements that may or may not have been responses to Kendrick Lamar‘s verse on Future and Metro Boomin‘s “Like That.”
