Kodak Black apparently can’t get in touch with Plies to clear a sample for his new song, so he’s put the call out on social media.
In an Instagram Live on Thursday (March 28), Yak made a plea for the “Shawty” creator or anyone on his team to help him out.
“I need somebody from Plies camp or Plies himself or whatever to tighten down,” he said. “‘Cause I got a song that I’m tryna drop and I need the clearance from Plies. I had redid one of his songs and I need the shit cleared. I grew up off that boy. I fuck with Plies tough. If you hear this or see this, let that boy know.”
It’s worth noting the pair have collaborated on numerous songs in the past, including an entire mixtape in 2017 named F.E.M.A. (Finesse. Elevate. Motivate. Achieve.) And just last month, Kodak appeared on a Plies-sampled song alongside Major Nine. However, Yak was just a guest feature, so the onus to clear the sample would not have fallen on him.

Kodak Black was released from prison in February after admitting to a probation violation though additional charges related to drug possession were dropped.
The rapper appeared to get himself into trouble immediately after exiting jail after getting into a confrontation with local media, but his attorney Bradford Cohen thinks Yak is a victim in the situation.
In an Instagram post, Cohen slammed the mainstream media for focusing on negative stories about the rapper and not positive ones such as him donating money to the family of a slain police officer.
“I’m sure the mainstream won’t carry it. @tmz_tv will probably only run something negative,” he wrote. “But we know how @kodakblack moves and what he’s been doing since day one. It’s a shame when people only want negativity on someone.”
