Drake Bell defended former “Drake & Josh” co-star Josh Peck after fans denounced him for not speaking out following the horrifying abuse allegations Bell and other former Nickelodeon actors made in the “Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV” docuseries released this week.
“I’ve noticed a lot of comments on some of Josh’s TikToks and some of his posts and I just want to let you guys know that … processing this and going through this is a really emotional time and a lot of it’s very, very difficult, so not everything is put out to the public,” Bell, 37, said in a TikTok video he shared Wednesday.
“I just want you guys to know that he has reached out to me and it’s been very sensitive, but he has reached out to talk with me and help me work through this and he’s been really, really great.”
He concluded his one-minute video by telling fans, “Take it a little easy on him.”
Bell posted the video after Peck, 37, was hounded online for posting a TikTok on Monday that showed him lip-syncing to audio that said, “If I haven’t talked to you since 2023, take that as a f–king sign that you don’t exist to me anymore.”
Many fans believed the video was Peck trying to distance himself from the allegations made in the bombshell docuseries and his fellow former child stars who participated in it.
“Your silence speaks volumes bro. It’s really sad. 😢,” one TikTok user commented under the video.
“Josh you disappointed us..” added another.
Meanwhile, other fans accused Peck of deleting comments about the docuseries as well as blocking accounts that called him out for his silence.
