Ladysmith Federal Savings & Loan receives financial literacy award | News

Ladysmith Federal was honored in the Legacy Category. It is the only locally owned community bank in Rusk County. It is innovative in leading financial literacy in the local community by utilizing national and statewide programs and customizing programs for smaller audiences. 

Kat Detloff, the compliance and BSA officer at Ladysmith Federal, was recognized individually for her financial literacy efforts at local schools including Ladysmith, Bruce, Flambeau and OLS and the Ladysmith Adult Day Care Center. 

The Legacy Category honors individuals, organizations or businesses whose purpose and heritage are       ingrained in sustained financial literacy, capability and inclusion. It also recognizes those whose reputation in doing so is held in high regard as to serve as a model for others in carrying on the work of supporting       financial literacy and expanding opportunities and security through financial capability. 

For many years, Ladysmith Federal has partnered with local schools including daycare, elementary, middle and high schools, to promote financial literacy.  Students learn about many areas of financial literacy including the importance of saving their money, how to make a budget and how to establish smart credit.
