Michael Bublé made the shocking claim that he had taken a psychedelic drug prior to holding a press conference for the NHL All-Star draft in Toronto earlier this week.
“My buddy told me this was just a microdose of mushrooms, and he was lying,” the “Feeling Good” singer, 48, said Thursday.
“I’ll be honest, I thought I was in ‘Blades of Glory’ for most of the time that I was out there until it sort of settled down and then I realized, ‘Holy s–t. I’m at an NHL All-Star Game.’”
Will Arnett, who starred in 2007 comedy about male figure skating and appeared with Bublé in the presser, then quipped that the jazz crooner had just compromised his career with his statements.
“It just occurs to me that through all the incredible songs that you’ve done over the years and all the hearts of women that you’ve won over around the world, with all that talk about fantasy hockey, you lost them all in one sentence,” the “Arrested Development” alum, 53, said.
“It all just evaporated … it’s just gone.
Bublé added that the drug mention likely hurt him the most, joking, “The mushroom talk cost me all of my contracts.”
Arnett agreed, saying, “Well, the mushroom talk definitely cost you a lot of income.”
After Bublé’s comments made the rounds online, the “Sway” singer retracted his initial remarks.
When a fan asked him via Instagram, “How were the shrooms;),” he replied, “years and people still don’t get my humor. I just keep rolling. lol”
In an interview with iHeart Radio Canada, Bublé also played coy when asked about his alleged mushrooms intake.
“Have the mushrooms worn off?” the reporter asked, to which the “LOVE” singer replied, “What mushrooms? Do you have mushrooms? Is that what you’re saying?”
