by The Urban News

Do you want your artwork to be seen and displayed for the community to view?

Here’s the perfect opportunity to do just that. Submit a painting, sculpture, or drawing and tell the story of what Black History Month means to you.

As part of a Black History Month Celebration, the Dr. Wesley Grant Sr. Southside Community Center is hosting “Black History Month Through the Eyes of Art,” a look at Black History through the eyes of local artists. The Community Center is looking to fill the center with local artists’ work of all types.

Registration is required at avlREC.com. Submissions must be received between 10 a.m. – 6 p.m., Monday, February 12 through Thursday, February 15, 2024 at the Dr. Wesley Grant Sr. Southside Community Center, 285 Livingston St., Asheville NC, 28801.

A reception will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. Submissions will be displayed through February 29, 2024. Questions? Call (828) 259-5483.
