Meek Mill Tears Up Classic Biggie Beat For New Funk Flex Freestyle

by UNN Feed

Meek Mill has quite the reputation for his freestyling ability, and this week he returned to Hot 97 to unleash a set of fiery bars over The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Warning” for Funk Flex.

On Monday (November 13), Meek pulled up to Flex for the first time since late 2018, and DJ Sam Sneak supplied him with the slow-paced Biggie classic.

The Philly rapper kicked knowledge about his community and how he’s moved around haters, enemies and cops.

“They gon’ put a tracker on your Hawk and try to keep it on you/ Gotta play your part and they start scheming on you/ Knock ’em out the park right when they start speaking on you/ N-ggas rocking ice and trying to slide without them heaters on you/ That’s how you get caught lacking,” he rapped.

The final beat switch from Sam Sneak caught Meek off guard as he had to recalibrate his flow to match the twitchy “Juju on That Beat.”

“When she ate my nut she started smiling like it’s Colgate/ Only in God we trust, can’t trust these hoes these hoes gon’ rotate/ I was on demon time, lil shawty a demon she was like okay,” Meek continued with Rozay watching in approval.

Fans seemed to approve of Meek’s work in the YouTube video’s comment section.

“Meek Mill is that lyrical rapper that we all love,” one person wrote. “They definely gave him wrong beats but Meek still killed it and understood the assignment like he can kill any trash beat given.”

Meek Mill and Rick Ross reunited for their Too Good To Be True project last week with features from Wale, Future, Teyana Taylor, French Montana and more.

While the project is estimated to move between 30,000 – 35,000 equivalent units in its seven days — lower than some fans’ expectations — the Philly rapper explained on Sunday (November 12) that he’s playing a different game than the traditional one the industry set up, as he and Rozay “own” the album.
